About This Project
Primary Elections in the United States are the first step towards choosing a President, with each of the major parties holding their own “mini elections” to decide who they will nominate for the position. One of the most well-known traditions of these contests is the meeting of the candidates on-stage for a series of debates. We decided to apply our knowledge of data science to have some fun and answer a few questions: What sort of language do different candidates use? What sort of factors are indicative of similar speech? How can we extract novel information from candidates speech to create interesting Bingo Cards?
